Wazwal
2024 -
abbreviated studies of light & form
I see these are drawings, not illustrations, because I’m leaving the paper to do a lot of the visual work: raw, candid, borderline unfinished.
This series features a subject interacting with an object in each piece. The compositions are informed by the Moleskine notebook centerfold and the horizontal lines of the paper.
I am a believer that constraint breeds creativity.
This style developed during the years of my industrial design degree; I studied product design and fashion illustration. The Wazwal style incorporates aspects of fashion and industrial design illustration as well as graffiti.

Bluesman
2022
a reflection of growing up in the Southeastern US and finding comfort in listening, playing, and relating to the blues
My interest in clothing illustration began with my use of performance gear & outerwear. This was the catalyst of my career as an apparel designer which has brought me to the Northwestern US.
Each Bluesman strives to illustrate these 2 geographies of my life in broadly relatable scenes.
Bluesman, not Bluesmen, because the blues are often times best played alone.
